I know many of you have already attended these courses,  the benefits from attending and running the courses are fantastic, by listening to your needs and feed back we are to make small adjustments to the courses getting them even more tailored to your needs.

We are thrilled also to announce that we will be adding another day course on which will be Audio, more details to follow.

We run these courses either here at Essential Supplies or by request at your premises.  We enjoy being able to host courses here at Essential Supplies giving you a chance to see what we do, meet our team and have the time to discuss your individual needs and enjoy a bit of Cornish hospitality !  On the same note we enjoy visiting you at your premises and learning more about your businesses.

All courses will provide you with the applicable skills to feel more confident and educated in the Event industry.

After completing our one day course in PAT Testing, if you successfully pass (we have a 100% pass rate) the multiple-choice test, you will be issued with a certificate, qualifying you to perform PAT tests on your own equipment and others. The Course is specially designed for those within the events industry, looking at key products, unique to the Events World. The testing techniques learnt can be used in any industry. You will be shown how to PAT test a wide range of our products from extension leads to metal light fittings and from simple distribution boards to power tools. If you have already purchased a PAT tester, you are welcome to bring it along to ensure that you get the best from it. Alternatively, we will give you advice on testers to buy.

Last year our Event Electrics course was extremely popular, our one day workshop is also aimed at those working in the Marquee & Events industry. We will cover all aspects of the design, installation and testing of temporary electrical systems for events. The course is aimed at those who specify and install such systems but have no formal electrical qualification. We will guide candidates through best practices in installing electrical and lighting systems in temporary structures for events, including how to avoid some common pitfalls and some not so obvious. There will also be plenty of opportunities to get up and close and personal with some of our latest products specifically designed for our industry.

We also hold an Event Lighting course; this course is also specifically designed to those working within the events industry. We cover different methods and types of lighting and how to install your system. We cover some background science, a guide to colour and brightness, controlling light, LEDS, choosing cables, power distribution, smoke, mirrors and installing your system safely.

We run these courses for between 4 – 8 people on each course.  We will start to give dates once we have an idea of interest in each course.  On request I can email more detailed descriptions of each course.
