The contact housing uses a flame retardant UL94-VO plastic cotter pin and the cable gland is made IP68 plastic for cable strain relief with 15 – 32mm (M40) clamping range to prevent any stress applied on the contact.

Additionally, permanent phase/line identification and safety information is marked on the outer housing which advises and prevents accidentally connecting the wrong drain / source together. A powerful feature of Powerlock when managing high-power loads.

All Features

  • 480Amp Line Drain / Source Connectors
  • Set screw termination 25 - 150sq.mm cables
  • Line 1, 2, 3, N and Earth
  • Permanent phase/line identification embossed
  • Flame retardant UL94-VO plastic cotter pin
  • M40 cable gland
  • IP68 waterproof

Reduction Sleeves

 Reduction Sleeves

PowerSyntax offer a selection of Line Source / Drain contact reduction sleeves which are available to fit 25 to 95mm.sq cables. These are ideal for cable retention with cable cross sections of 95mm.sq or smaller and are far better than other reduction options available today.

Rather than using concentric sleeves which can affect performance, PowerSyntax reduction sleeves are made up of a solid sleeve connector which is far more reliable when reducing down to small, 25mm.sq sections.

*PowerSyntax Sleeve Adaptors are available as:

  • 25mm.sq
  • 35mm.sq
  • 50mm.sq
  • 70mm.sq
  • 95mm.sq

Reduction sleeves are not required for 120 & 150mm.sq

The 480Amp connectors in line source / drains all use a set of screw contacts that can be fastened easily with hand tools, saving time and effort. They use screw lengths suitable for specific sleeve sizes so that the compression is directly on the sleeve/cable. The stripping length is 33mm for all sleeve sizes.

  • Cable Strip Length: 33mm
  • Set screw tightening torque: 12Nm
  • Screw set: M10 hex screw x 2, size 5 allen key

Panel Connectors

Powerlock panel connector with microswitch
PowerSyntax Series
of single pole panel connectors offer a range of panel source / drain options, including standard connectors and the new patented connectors with microswitch and chain pilot. Panel connectors using chain pilot contain a patented built-in pilot microswitch, that disengages the load from all connectors when a single line is uncoupled.

Once more, PowerSyntax have introduced an innovative design to standard panel connectors that makes it impossible for the connector to be removed while under load.

Powerlock Panel Connector Standard

Standard panel connectors in the market are protected by IP53, and now IP67 waterproof caps however the improved technical capability and safety features in chain pilot make this the ideal solution. This pioneering advancement to Powerlock is revolutionising the market and is available today, contact us for more information.

Available within both panel drain and source connectors, 480Amp and 750Amp.

Standard 480Amp and 750Amp Panel Source / Drain connectors use M12 threaded post or threaded hole when assembling with a standard cable lug or bolt. In addition, panel connectors are also available with set-screw/crimp and EasiLug contacts.

  • Connectors with Standard Post: M12 threaded post contacts
  • Connectors with Standard Hole: M12 threaded hole contacts for fixing bolt
  • Connectors with Crimp Contacts:
    • Set-screw contact terminal with reduction sleeves for 480Amp connectors
    • Crimp contact terminal 185 – 240mm.sq, up to 750Amp connectors
  • Connectors with EasiLug:
    • EasiLug contact with copper lug terminal for copper cables up to 750Amp
    • EasiLug contact with bi-metal aluminium/copper lug terminal for aluminium cables up to 480Amp

Panel source / drain connectors are available in L1, L2, L3, Neutral and Earth and also feature protection to individuals through the drain contact lock and are also embossed / imprinted with the permanent phase identification and safety information on the outside casing. No stickers are applied.

These additional suage and safety features prevent mistakenly coupling the wrong connections together as only matching source/drain connectors can mate.

Panel Connector Backshell

Finally, panel connectors are also available with threaded body for insulating with a backshell, for more information please contact us.

SyntaxLock

SyntaxLock secondary lock for Line / Panels

PowerSyntax Powerlock Series has now developed a new release key system that does away with a typically, missing/displaced key.

Thanks to the new SyntaxLock, a proprietary release system is already attached to line / panel connectors and acts as a secondary lock. It is also be used when using with the IP67 cap to allow for an unlocking element when exposing the outlet.

It’s a faster, more practical way of unlocking and uncoupling and is very simple to install. The Syntaxlock is in full compliance with regulations as un-mating still requires voluntary operation on the key. SyntaxLock is supplied separately.

Syntax lock in use

The lock is a universal kit to be fitted on either line or panel connectors and consists of:

  • 1 collar (for panel/line source)
  • 1 release key for panel source
  • 1 release key for line source
  • 1 set of bolt / nut

The lock is applied when coupling source/drain connectors and when locking a protection cap. Its ergonomic design makes it easier to use by hand while upholding the utmost protection and safety. Another must for Powerlock users worldwide.

T-Connectors

 Powerlock T Connector

The perfect solution to line power distribution is also applicable to the single pole PowerSyntax Series of Powerlock connectors. Available in L1, L2, L3, Neutral and Earth T-Connectors as standard with EU, UK, Australia and US colour coding designations.

 T Connector Overview

Each feature one drain and two source in 480Amp connectors. The T-Connector is provided in a standard or reverse design whereby the inlet is inline with one of the outputs.

T Connectors phase inverted

In addition, the PowerSyntax Powerlock T-Connectors are available in Phase Inversion editions when needed on the reverse rotation of a 3-phase motor. They are also used when providing those who use only one model of phase conductor to operate L1-L2-L3 + Neutral systems, with an interface between their distros and devices.

Once more, standard and reverse T-Connectors are available whereby the input is inline with one of the outputs.

The PowerSyntax Series is used widely for high power distribution points, adopted by a variety of industries including broadcast Film & TV, Theatres, Studios, Mobile Generators, Industrial Vehicles, Transport Rail, Government and Utilities sectors.
