This lampholder fits onto our flat 2 core Festoon Cable only , it is not suitable for use with ordinary cables.  This is the cable to  use Festoon Cable see

There is no IP rating, so suggested for indoor use only.  Customers have told us about using them sucessfully outdoors, sometimes extra sealant fitted between the lampholder and the cable.

British made BC lampholder for use with traditional lamps or LEDs.

Moulded from Phenolic material and rated to 100w maximum, this two part holder clamps around the cable making a mechanical and electrical connection. No tools are required.

Lampholders can be removed and re-used time & time again, but the cable may need to be replaced as the lampholders pierce the cable insulation when fitting.

Applications - Use
18th Edition Wiring Regulations BD7671:2018 now has regulation 711.559.4.3, which says this type of festoon is NOT suitable for use at Exhibitions or Public Shows.  You need to use moulded festoon for those applications instead. See Festoons.
