What are testers?

Tester equipment, whether that’s PAT testing, test plugs or voltage detectors, is designed to inspect electrical devices to see whether they adhere to safety standards and are working as they should. Used by seasoned professionals and amateurs alike, our testing equipment will ensure you have access to usable, safe electrical items at all times.

When to use tester equipment

Testing equipment should be used any time you’re dealing with electrical appliances that have the potential to cause injury or lead to an electrical fire hazard. Old equipment or that which has been stored for some time, for example, benefits from being checked to ensure it’s still working properly and that all the connections are secure. Testing isn’t a legal requirement in most cases, but it’s beneficial for businesses to know for certain that the devices they’re using are safe and won’t cause harm to employees or customers. Any device that has a flexible cable, a plug or a socket should be tested. So, for example, a battery-operated drill doesn’t need to be tested, but the charger for it would do.

Explore our range of testers

Our range of testing equipment includes a host of different products to suit various types of appliances. Voltage detectors are useful to have on hand to check if there’s a current flowing through plugs or sockets, while 13A tester plugs indicate quickly if there’s a wiring fault so you can always be sure that the wiring for sockets is up to scratch. If you’re working with electricity, whether setting up lighting equipment or working in an industrial setting, a multimeter is vital to verify electrical devices with accuracy. Testing equipment is an important part of workplace safety for any industry, and one that any commercial environment needs to undergo regularly to ensure that all the appliances are fit for purpose.
