What Are Analogue Mixers?

Analogue mixers, also known as analogue mixing consoles or desks, are devices that are used as sound reinforcement systems. The tool can be used to amplify sound and is utilised in both recording and when producing live sound, amplifying the signals from instruments or microphones to blend the audio together. Analogue mixers differ from digital mixers in the way that the audio signals are internally processed in their original analogue form, as opposed to being converted and processed into digital form. Analogue mixers are often praised for their no-nonsense, easy to use control panels.

When To Use Analogue Mixers

There are a wide range of ways in which analogue mixers can be used, with the equipment being particularly beneficial to those working in the entertainment and theatre industries. Broadcasting is a main sector that uses audio mixing consoles daily, as do festivals, bands and musicians both in the recording studio and on tour, houses of worship and music venues. Analogue mixers are also utilised by those working in the theatre industry, creating audio throughout stage performances and productions – processing both music and live vocal sounds.
