AMF Panel (Automatic Mains Fail Panels)

We were contacted by our customer Bisley Leisure Hire to create a bespoke Portable AMF Panel for use with their generators.

What is an AMF Panel?

An AMF Panel is an electrical control panel that monitors the mains supply and can automatically switch to an alternative supply should the prime mains supply faulter or fail.

The AMF Panel monitors the status of the mains power supply continuously looking for odd voltages or frequencies. If the panel detects a failure or interruption in the prime mains supply it initiates a sequence to start a back up generator (if wanted) and then automatically switches the power from the prime supply to the back up supply. This sequence includes time delays to power up any back up generator, and safely switch from one supply to another. The power will typically be off for about 30 seconds while the changeover takes place.

The panel will now continue to monitor the prime mains supply. If it comes back and is stable for a few minutes, then the AMF panel will automatically switch back to the Prime supply. This changeover will typically take about 10 seconds. Once running on the prime supply the back up generator is automatically turned off.

These portable AMF enclosures are available from TItan Power, this version is rated at 63 Amps three phase. Titan Power currently manufactures a range of AMF enclosures from 32 Amp single phase to 125 Amp three phase.
